The vineyards of Schloss-Johnnisberg (Castle of Mount John) continue to maintain today the strict section of a single vineyard, which was established centuries ago, with the 50°N latitude passing through its centuries. Although some parts were destroyed by World War II in 1942, it was certified as a single vineyard by the Wine Act in 1971, and became famous as one of the longest-old domaines in the world as Riesling vineyards.
