KWV Cathedral Cellar Pinotage Red
Cathedral Cellar is ranked as the highest grade of KWV's standard products. Pinotage is a grape variety unique to South Africa that was created in 1925 by KWV's first head vineyard, Professor Perod, by crossing Pinot Noir with Cinsault (Hermitage). It combines the elegant and overflowing fruitiness of Pinot Noir with the robustness of Cinsault. It has nuances of blackcurrant, black cherry, plum and fruit cake. The balance of sweet fruitiness and well-integrated oak creates a concentrated taste, and the silky smooth tannins give it a juicy and mellow finish.
