After drying a portion of the Cabernet Sauvignon, it is blended with Corvina and fermented for 40 days. It is then aged for 12 months in 10-year-old French oak barrels previously used by Hennessy for aging spirits. This process adds nuances of vanilla, rum, and almond to the complex aromas of dark fruit, resulting in a remarkably soft, velvety mouthfeel, a long-lasting finish, and smoky notes.
