Shimanto Pork is a distinctive type of pork produced by the Kubokawa Pig Farming Association. Raised in an environment rich in nature, surrounded by clean air and water, near the Shimanto River, often called Japan's last pristine river, the pigs are fed a unique blend of rice, wheat, potatoes, and soybeans, carefully balanced for nutrition. As a result of the producers' trial and error, the pigs gain more weight than those raised using conventional methods, and have become a highly regarded brand of pork known for its excellent taste, flavor, tenderness, and juiciness.
