Rosemount Estate started when Karl Brescht, who had moved from Germany, planted the first grapes in Upper Hunter Valley, New South Wales, and named them the "Rosemount Vineyard."

Brescht's wines were highly regarded at international trade fairs in the late 19th century, winning gold medals at the Bordeaux International Trade Fair in 1881.
With the establishment of the winery in 1974, the business began with the goal of producing wine at an international level.
For over 40 years, it has been known as one of Australia's leading wineries, and has produced the finest wines that boast the incredible quality and style of McLarenvale.
