In order to build a new European order after the Napoleonic Wars, the Vienna Conference, which is known in the history of the world, was held in Vienna, the capital of the Austrian Empire, and was the chairman of the Marquis Metternig.
On July 1, 1816, Emperor Franz of Austria gave to the Metternich family the Schloss Johannisberg of Rheingau, which had long been acclaimed worldwide, and his vineyards, to the Metternich family, in honor of his achievements in bringing the international order to Europe and leading the world to peaceful coexistence.

The two companies later joined forces, and in 1867 the wine, which was exhibited at the Paris World's Exposition, won a gold medal. "Fürst" means "Prince." This is because he was the young prince of the Marquis at the time of the Vienna Conference.
