About the product
●Tomartin 31 Margaux Red Wine Cask Finish
The raw sake, distilled on October 17th, 1990, is packed in refill hogs head (※), and then slowly matures while maintaining the original fruitiness of the raw sake. After 26 and a half years, on June 16, 2017, the raw sake was aged for five years with Tomartin's raw sake in a barrel that had been aged from Margaux red wine.
(※Refill Hogs Head means "a barrel used to aged whiskey several times," while Hogs Head means "a barrel size.")
It has a firm core and a heavy body feel, yet elegant and fragrant Margaux features. This extremely interesting raw liquor was created, exquisitely combining it with the soft, fruity flavor of Tomartin's house style, and fully expressing Tomartin's new charm.
Distilled on October 17, 1990, bottling on August 8, 2022, total number of units produced 282.
Cask Strength. This whiskey is elegant with amber color in a calm tone.
*The product bottle does not contain numbering. Numbering will be included in the cosmetic box.
●Taste
The richness of red wine is mixed in a balanced way with a sweet, fruity aroma. Following the fruit scent of oranges and baked apples, you can also feel the freshly cut grass, dark chocolate, worn-out leather products, roasted pine nuts, and heather and lilac aromas.
The taste is supple, mellow, and elegant mouthfeel from Margaux. The fruitiness of the red currant is added to the complexity of black truffles. The soft bitterness of tannins is moderately harmonized by the rich flavor of tropical fruits typical of long-aged Tomartin.
The finish is rich yet elegant. It has a smooth aftertaste with many layers.

Tomartin Distillery is gaining attention
Tomartin Distillery has been announced to have won three top prizes at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2022 (IWSC) and the Icons of Whisky Awards 2023 (IOW).
Tomartin, the perfect place for whiskey making
The Tomartin Distillery is located in the village of Tomartin, with a population of about 500, about 900 km northwest of London and 25 km south of Inverness, a major city in the Highlands of Scotland.
Near the distillery is Loch Ness, famous for the legendary "Nessie", and is surrounded by traditional Scottish landscapes.
The distillery "Tomartin" comes from the name of this village. It is an ancient Scottish and Irish word called "Gaelic," which means "a hill of a jelly tree."
The benefits of nature are essential for making delicious whiskey
●Water is essential for making whiskey
Tomartin has a selection of essentials for making delicious whiskey. One of them is water. The Tomartin Distillery uses pure water from the Monarias Mountains for its refill.
This water is drawn from the stream that flows through the village and is known in awe as "Alta na Fris."
The water from the stream of freedom springs slowly and over time through the granite. There are no too many minerals and the water is soft enough, so the finished whiskey is soft and has a delicate flavor.
The passion of the creators supporting delicious whiskey
In Tomartin, there are many people who live in distillery residences and continue to work for generations. The passion of this maker makes the whisky "Tomartin" even more delicious and wonderful. This passion continues today since its founding in 1897.
"About 170,000 barrels of whiskey are quietly asleep and waiting for the moment to thrill malt fans around the world," says Graham Junson, the current master distiller.
