Bordeaux traditions that have continued since 1881
Gaston Charpentier comes from the founder's name.
Born in Bordeaux, Gaston Charpentier grew up in a rigorous, traditional education. His parents were extremely gourmet and had a strong attachment to Bordeaux and its terroirs, and they shared the charm of wine with their son.
At the age of 20, Gaston joins the army to broaden his horizons. He joined the cavalry because of his love for horses he inherited from his mother Therese. In 1881, he began the wine business, which was popular in Bordeaux at the time, and founded the Maison Gaston in the heart of Bordeaux, and in 1906 he moved to the Charton area, where wine negociants gather.
Here, Gaston used horse motifs in his company's mark to express the nobility and elegance of wine that emerged from the earth, as well as the company's mark.
